Liebes Tagebuch,
nachdem der Abend in Wien mit einer feucht fröhlichen Aftershow-Party zu Ende ging, fuhren wir sehr zeitig morgens Richtung Rom los. Als Zwischenstopp für eine Schlafpause vom Busfahrer haben wir im Bergland von Bologna ein kleines Restaurant mit großem Hof gefunden, bei dem wir die kommende Nacht mit unserem Reisebus stehen dürfen.
Die Landschaft dort ist unbeschreiblich schön. Am Abend speist die gesamte Travelling Party gemeinsam an einer langen Tafel in dem Restaurant. Alleine schon das extrem gute Essen dort ist die lange Reise wert. Nach einer kleinen Runde Volleyball und dem einen oder anderen tollen Gespräch mit den Jungs von Rotersand geht der Abend für mich zu Ende und es geht ab ins Bett. Sehr zeitig morgens fahren wir auch schon weiter nach Rom.
Dort angekommen kommt die erste „festgefahrene“ Situation der Tour. Auf der Einfahrt zum Club hat unser Bus aufgesetzt und will weder vorwärts noch rückwärts weiter…nach langem hin und her, kleinen Tricks und den einen oder anderen zerstörten Stück Asphalt kommt er dann doch wieder frei und der Aufbau der gesamten Technik kann los gehen. Da ich aufgrund des Zeraphine-Auftritts in Großenhain den gesamten Tag frei habe, mache ich mich recht schnell auf den Weg in die City von Rom. Die Sonne scheint, es sind geschätzte 28°C, also Wasserflasche eingepackt und Sonnenbrille auf, und los geht’s. Nach rund 6 km Fußweg bin ich am Rand der Innenstadt angekommen. Von dort bin ich im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes „völlig planlos“ in die kleinen Gassen der Stadt gewandert. Nach vielen Ecken stand die rettende Touristinfo am St.Maria Maggiore mit einer gut lesbaren Karte der Innenstadt, auf der ich meinen weiteren Tagesablauf recht schnell fest gelegt habe.
Los geht es mit dem Weg Richtung Colosseum, vorbei am Palatino zum Circo Massimo und von dort flussaufwärts an der Tavere zum Piazza St. Pietro. Dieser ist der Hauptplatz vor dem Petersdom im Vatikan. Von dort geht es vorbei am Castel St. Angelo wieder auf die Ostseite der Tavere. Hier kann man sehr schön durch schöne kleine Seitengassen schlendern und das italienische Flair genießen. So bin ich durch diese kleine Gassen zum Piazza Navona, zum Pantheon, dem Piazza Venezia, über die Via Nazionale zum Piazza della Republica gekommen.
Hier Endet nun meine kleine Rom Wanderung und nachdem ich nach ein paar weiteren Kilometern die richtige Bushaltestelle gefunden habe, ging es zurück zum Club. Dort angekommen erwartet mich direkt ein toller Auftritt von Rotersand und ein feines Konzert von VNV. Nach dem letzten Ton ging mein Arbeitstag los. Die Bühne muss in Rekordzeit von maximal zwei Stunden abgebaut und verpackt werden und so helfe ich der Crew beim Abbau. Danach geht es ohne Umwege in den Bus die die Reise nach Turin geht los.
Dear Diary,
after the evening in Vienna ended up in a cheerful party we left for Rome very early in the morning. Because the bus driver had to rest we chose a beautiful restaurant in the mountains near Bologna for the break where we could stay with our bus for the next night.
This landscape is unbelievably beautiful. The whole tour group had dinner on a long table in the restaurant. The excellent meal alone was worth the long journey. After a short volleyball match and some nice conversation with the guys of Rotersand my day ended and I went to bed. We continued our journey to Rome very early in the morning.
In Rome we’ve had the first stuck situation on this tour. At the clubs entrance the bus touched the ground and it moved neither forth nor back. After trying several tricks and some broken pieces of asphalt we set it free and we could start setting up the equipment. I’ve had a free day because of the Zeraphine show in Grossenhain, so I immediately went to the city of Rome. The sun is shining, there are 28°C… water, sunglasses… let’s go. After a 6km trail I arrived at the city centre and I went quite aimless through the small alleyways.
After many corners I’ve found a tourist info at St. Maria Maggiore with a map of the city centre where I could arrange my schedule for the day.
So I started my way towards Colosseum, passing Palatino and Circo Massimo and from there upstream at river Tavere to Piazza St. Pietro which is the main site in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. From there I passed Castel St. Angelo back to the east side of river Tavere. Here you can amble through beautiful alleyways and enjoy the Italian flair. So I went to Piazza Navona, to Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, Via Nazionale and arrived at Piazza della Republica.
That was the end of my walk through Rome and when I’ve found the right bus stop I went back to the club. There I’ve seen a great performance of Rotersand and a perfect VNV Nation show. My work-day started after the last note was played. The stage had to be unmounted and packed in max 2 hours which was a record so I helped the crew. Thereafter we went straight into the bus and we left for Torino.
